Jacob Unger PT, DPT
Area DirectorJacob majored in exercise science at Valparaiso University in NW Indiana for his undergraduate schooling. He then attended Duke University where he earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Jacob enjoys working with patients of all ages and has a passion for optimizing performance whether it be on the playing field or in everyday life. He has extensive experience treating a variety of orthopedic conditions including:
- Post-operative, especially total joint replacements
- Rotator cuff repairs
- Labral repairs
- Meniscal repairs
- ACL reconstructions

- Microdiscectomies
- Spinal Fusions
Jacob was a Division 1 soccer player and particularly enjoys working with other athletes, whether it is to help them recover from an injury or optimize their performance.
One of his favorite things about physical therapy is being able to help patients take control of their rehabilitation using a combination of manual and exercise-based treatments as they increase their function and achieve their goals. He enjoys being able to connect with patients and hear about how physical therapy has changed their lives.
Jacob has ten siblings and grew up in Appleton, Wisconsin before moving to Apex, North Carolina with his family in 2008. He enjoys playing and watching soccer and other sports (Go Packers!) in addition to spending time with his family and friends.

Kyle Davidson PT, DPT
DirectorKyle graduated from Oakland University in Auburn Hills, Michigan with a Clinical Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy. He also received his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio where he worked with a variety of division-1 collegiate sports teams. He relocated to North Carolina from Michigan in 2012. In 2015, he became a Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS) through the APTA and began utilizing functional dry needling to treat dysfunctional soft tissue. He has attended Maitland manual therapy continuing education courses focusing on hands-on spinal mobilization and assessment. Kyle has also completed continuing education coursework on vestibular rehabilitation and concussion assessment & medical management.
Kyle loves helping his patients develop autonomy over their own health and believes in providing education to promote independence and to empower his patients to affect their outcome.

Office CoordinatorSherri has been an integral member of the Cardin and Miller Physical Therapy for over 10 years. She earned an associates degree in Medical Billing and Coding from Miller-Motte College. Sherri entered the field of healthcare with a passion to help others.
As the Front Desk Manager she is a valuable member of the Cardin and Miller Physical Therapy team. She is most likely the first person you’ll see when you come into the clinic and is usually the voice you talk to on the phone. Sherri loves to see people get back to their best!
In her free time, Sherri enjoys hiking with her dogs and spending time with her grandchildren!!

Physical Therapist AssistantOriginally from Buffalo, NY, Chris has worked in the medical field with over 20 years’ experience earning his Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Villa Maria College of Buffalo and his Sports Medicine degree with focus on Athletic Training from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he worked with numerous sports teams and athletes while with the Tar Heels. Chris’ degrees allowed him to work with athletes from all different area high school levels in North Carolina, to collegiate sports Divisions I, II, and III, as well as Olympic and professional sports in the NHL, NFL, and MLB.
Chris continues to work with the Tar Heels during off season summer conditioning sessions. He is also certified as a Strength and Conditioning specialist. His experience in inpatient, outpatient, short term and long term assisted living, special needs, Special Olympics, athletic training, and personal training has permitted him to improve numerous lives of all ages through education, experience, execution, personality, and compassion.
Chris advocates that health, fitness, and wellness are a choice worth pursuing and that through struggle comes strength both mentally and physically regardless of age or ailments.
